La palabra “either” es un término que pertenece a la lengua inglesa, y que puede traducirse de varias maneras al español, ya que su significado es variado, pudiendo ser “tampoco”, cualquiera” u otros términos parecidos. Siempre se trata de situaciones de binomios de personas o situaciones, y de las diferentes posibilidades entre ellas, “ambos, ninguno, o cualquiera”.


Asi, en oraciones positivas podríamos traducirlo por “tanto como”. Por ejemplo: “Tanto María como Carmen vendrán a casa hoy”, es decir, ambas.

En oraciones negativas puede traducirse por tampoco o términos similares: “No vendré a la fiesta, y Elena tampoco”, o sea, ninguna.

En el caso de que equivalga a cualquiera: “O Juan o yo pasaremos a recogerlo”.

You can use either to refer to one of two things, people, or situations when you want to say that they are both possible and it does not matter which one is chosen or considered.
