My teacher Ally

The first time I took Ally’s lesson was in July this year. I was searching for a teacher who can help me prepare for the TOEIC Test on the platform, Ally’s video caught my eyes immediately. I was impressed by her clear pronunciation and her working experience. I wanted to get an English certificate so I can have more options when looking for a job. After the first class, I knew that Ally could be the one who can help me a lot.
Ally is always on time for the lessons, she is a patient and professional teacher, too. Although our lessons put emphasis mainly on English speaking and writing, Ally is willing to answer some other questions for me, sometimes even after class. I haven’t attended the TOEIC Test before, so I was a little nervous. Ally always encouraged me a lot and made me feel better.
Also, Ally provided me with personalized learning materials, including various kinds of useful words, phrases and idioms. She classified each lesson’s note in different files on google drive so I can review again and again after classes. Thanks to Ally’s help, I was able to use different kinds of phrases and idioms when I am speaking or writing. In addition, I have become more confident than before because I made a lot of progress.
I participated in the TOEIC Listening and Reading Test this September. Before the test, I had done lots of actual tests. Every time when I am facing some difficulties with grammar, I turn to Ally for help. She always explained the questions to me clearly and solved the problems efficiently. Finally, I got 475 on both the Listening and Reading tests! I was so excited when the result came out, and I shared the good news to my dear teacher Ally right away.
After the Listening and Reading Test, there was still a big challenge ahead, the Speaking and Writing Test. In Taiwan’s education process, we didn’t have many opportunities to practice English speaking and writing, especially speaking, so it was really not easy for me to speak fluently due to the lack of practice and confidence at first. However, as the saying goes, “practice makes perfect”, after a lot of practice with my teacher, Ally, I was able to speak in English better and better. After preparing for several months, I joined the TOEIC Speaking and Writing Test in November. The result was much better than I expected, I got 170 on my speaking test and 180 on my writing test!
To learn a foreign language is never an easy thing. You have to put in a large amount of time, especially when you are not in that kind of environment. Luckily, we can search for different kinds of information and learning materials on the internet nowadays, it’s very convenient. There are so many online tutors, too. A good teacher will definitely be the icing on the cake for a language learner. To me, Ally is not only a teacher, but also a good friend and a mentor.
