Hello all! My name is Cody. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Health with coaching and health endorsements. I have had an interesting journey after graduating since I did not go directly into my field of study: I decided to travel. For the last 5 years, after graduating, I traveled since it was something I was never able to do, nor did I think it was possible. I have been to many different countries on both the European and South American continents. As I traveled I started to teach English in schools to sustain this type of lifestyle. As I became more and more immersed in cultures and learning new things I found out teaching was something I was really good at and I enjoyed a lot. So from this experience I decided to make teaching my full time career.
From the classroom to online I have been teaching for over 5 years now. My experience started in the classroom as I taught physical education to young learners (K-5th grade). Then I moved into teaching adolescents and young adults (6th-12th grade). Eventually, I received my TEFL certification and I moved into teaching English to adults and young learners ranging from all ages and backgrounds. I have had experience teaching at all levels, and even in different countries. The subjects I have taught are various and include environmental science, math, information technology, physical education, and finally English. I found English as one of my favorite subjects because of the freedom I can bring to a class and how different each class can be even if I am teaching the same subject to many different students in one day.
As I continued my career as a teacher I started to tutor along the way so that I can help individual students who may not have time for school, but just enough time to sit down and learn from an experienced professional. I enjoy this type of work and I approach it very delicately. Everyone is different and everyone learns in their own way. I try to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable in classes. Students are always nervous and I always tell them "Don't be nervous. It doesn't help to worry so much when you are actually taking the steps to learn more and be better". I mean this statement and I will continue to try my best to make sure those I teach don't feel nervous. Learning is much better when you are happy and can remember the good times you had with the person who helped you. I only remember a few bad teachers, but I will never forget the many who have helped me and made me feel like I could succeed, and tried to help me the best they could. That is something I want to give to anyone who decides to book any time with me. I am here for you. So as long as you are serious and you are putting in the work to learn you never have to worry. You will have a great time. I will do my best of make sure of it! So contact me if I seem like someone who could work for you. I look forward to meeting you!
